Getting into space shouldn't cost the Earth
The NCSSA is concerned about a proposed rocket launching facility at Whalers Way, on the very southern tip of Eyre Peninsula. The area is home to significant coastal vegetation and marine ecosystems of high conservation significance, and this development would compromise the high scenic and wilderness values of the area. The area is also protected under a Heritage Agreement and provides habitat for species protected under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999. The NCSSA wrote to the Environment Minister to express our concerns, and seeks for the development to be moved to a more appropriate location.
